Q: How do I submit an abstract?

Papers
Q: How do I submit my paper?
A: Detailed paper submission instructions are available on the paper submissions page.

Proceedings
Q: Will a CD of the conference proceedings be available?
A: Yes, additionally IBPSA put conference papers on the web at some time after the conference - if you go to www.ibpsa.org, you can download papers from previous conferences.

Q: Are the conference proceedings cited by EI or SCI?
A: Conferences are not usually included in citation indices; however, a certain number of the conference papers are likely to be selected for expansion and later submission as a journal paper.

Register for the Conference
Q: How do I register for the conference?
A: A Step-by-step registration guide is available under the Registration Help link.

Q: On-line conference registration is closed! How and where can I register?
A: On-line registration was closed at 12:00 on 23rd July, but you can register at the conference registration desk either Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 or on Monday morning from 8:30 onwards. If you only want to register for the Applications day, the registration desk will be open on Wednesday morning from 8:30. The registration desk will be in the John Anderson building at the University of Strathclyde. Details of location are available by [clicking here].

Schools Design Session
Q: The E-form for the schools design session seems to be suggesting attendance at the entire 3 day conference. Please advise if we are able to attend only on the Wednesday and how we go about this?
A: Under "Participant Status Information", please select the button "Applications Day". Then you should find the fee displayed for the 1 day only.

Student Support
Q: What Student Support is available and what does this support include?
A: IBPSA will offer a number of competitive student scholarships which will assist in registration fees/travel/accommodation. Details will be put on our website as soon as they are confirmed by IBPSA.

Student Registration
Q: Do I need to provide proof that I am a student to qualify for the student conference rate?
A: Yes - you will need to provide an image of your student card or equivalent to validate your conference registration.

Q: Can I send my proof of student registration by email?
A: Yes - send a scanned image of your student card to Dr Paul Strachan (paul@esru.strath.ac.uk)

Q: How do I get to or from the University to my train,plane or bus?

Upload Problems
Q: I'm having problems seeing or uploading my paper to Conftool, how can I solve this?
A: Part of the the Conference site recently moved to a secure server and this may cause problems when viewing or trying to upload papers. If you have bookmarked the login page prior to the beginning of May then remove your old bookmark and navigate to the login page via: www.bs2009.org.uk. Alternatively try clearing out your web browser cache - you may be accessing outdated site pages. If you still can't see your paper or upload it then e-mail: webmaster@bs2009.org.uk.
